Evènement organisé par la faculté des lettres – département d’étudies méditerranéennes, salves et orientales.

In Jerusalem, as World War II comes to an end, a group of promising intellectuals and artists from different religions gather at the King David Hotel. Among them are Wolfgang Hildesheimer, Jabra Ibrahim Jabra, and other influential figures. United despite religious divides, they share a moment of creativity before 1948, when the creation of Israel and the Nakba upend their lives. By exploring this artistic, literary, and intellectual legacy, Mejcher-Atassi shows how social biography can provide a more inclusive and personal view of the past.
